I just had to replace my serpentine belt and now its making a noise like a gas powered scooter.

My charging system light came
on and I heard a noise like I had
a bunch of rocks hitting under
my car. I pull over to see if I was
draging some tree limbs but I
saw nothing.  I put the hood my
belt is gone and in shreads like
Freddie cougar got hold of it. I
drive it tp pepboys they put on a
new one but told me I had a leak.
My belt was only going to break
again and that I needed to get
my engine cleaned because it
was too hard to tell where it was
coming from because it was too
dirty. Once it gets clean bring it
back so the tech can use this
spray and special glasses to see
just where its leaking.  Im going
to say power steering because I
keep having to replace it
because my stearing wheel
starts to make that rubbing
noise. So I add the fluid and it
goes away for a month or two
and im adding more fluid.
Something I forgot to mention
when I was at pepboys.  Any
help will do. Again my car is 04
