Change the chip and prepare the engine to increase the boost.

just get a chip from apr. and what do you mean prepare the engine to increase the boost

he means like get a new intercooler if you mod your turbo then youre going to need different things to handle the boost increase

Preparing for an increase in boost isn't as bad as preparing for a bigger turbo though its similar. It really depends on how much boost your increasing. I'm guessing that a VW probably comes with a strong engine and it can handle an increase in boost pressure for quite a bit beyond its stock pressure. Since it sounds like you're going for economical mods, I guess you should just make the most out of your stock turbo cuz swapping to a bigger one is a bitch. I really dont know what goes into a stock R32 so I couldnt tell you what you need to change to handle an increase in boost. For all you know, the fuel system and the strength of the engine components are enough to handle 30psi. You probably should consult a mechanic that knows VW's well. If you're looking for other cheap effective mods, you're probably looking at intake and exhaust systems, spark plugs and spark boosters instead. Everything else starts to get pricey cuz many components arent worth buying alone unless you've ruined the one on your car for some odd reason. Maybe a port and polish job too. I would recommend handling mods as well though maybe a R32 comes with them already I dont know.

Whoops sorry I should have done my homework. I just assumed it was like a golf. Well erase the parts that mention boost and everything else is right. On that same note though, if its within your price range getting a turbo kit would probably be the best bang for buck you can get. Forced induction does wonders for power.

Thanks Jim its from 7 to about 15 grand little bit expensive appreciate it though

The R32 is a normally aspirated, off center, narrow slant V6. What is with all the boost and turbo advice unless a turbo has been added? Didn't see where the OP mentioned a turbo upgrade. I put a K&N filter element in mine. Would like to and know that K&N makes a complete cold air intake upgrade for the '08 R32. A fully programmable chip and/or scanner mod that connects to the under dash would be nice as well. Adding a big turbo would turn it into a fire breathing dragon but it all depends on how much you're willing to spend. Just saw the other posts about the cost of turbos for it. Guess I'm a few years late posting on. This thread LMFAO
