2004 Chevy trailblazer ignition

Asked by Becky Jun 01, 2024 at 03:41 PM about the 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Replaced the ignition after having the key not turn off
when in park. The new ignition has two new keys; it
turns on and all the lights, windows work, but it won’t
turn over. It turned over with the old ignition and key.
Suggestions???

It would have to be programed for the computer to recognize so you should have had the dealer do it . Replacing an ignition switch/tumbler ain't no oil change , You need to know what you're doing

You need to be towed to your local Chevrolet Dealer for the new keys to be programmed to the vehicle. There's no way around it. BTW, all the magical tricks, relearn procedures, etc. that you'll find on the internet will not work in your situation. Jim
