I had a terrible experience with a dealer and I would like to complain - you will be shocked!

Asked by GuruLMP9K Jun 06, 2019 at 10:44 AM about the 2008 Jeep Patriot

Question type: General

We went to the Hyundai dealer in Stamford, CT yesterday to test drive and
put a deposit down on an orange Jeep Patriot. We were told up front that we
could put the $500 deposit down on the car and then my husband could go
look at it before we purchased it (my son and I). Just when I was pulling out
my debit card to pay for the deposit the manager said no that it had to be a
down payment and that we could not put a deposit down.  His name is
Anthony Petruzziello and he is the Sales Manager (203)388-0916. He was
very agressive and totally unfair. They misrepresented what they had told us
and my son wanted that car. They said someone else wanted to look at it and
that is why we had to make a non-refundable down payment. The sales
person promised us we could do a down payment and he lost out too. The
sales person, Chris, couldn't have been nicer. We are very upset and think
that this should be investigated and we should get an apology for such
terrible service. I am then going to ask that you give them a negative rating
on Car Garus. Thank you, Diane Davol dianedavol@aol.com

First they told us that we could put a full refundable $500 deposit down good for 48 hours then they told us it was a down payment only and non-refundable. They were very rude and sneaky.
