How hard is it to change an oil pump

Engine is ticking like it is low on oil but it's not .and low oil light( Idiot light ) comes on
then goes out also run's hot some time's ... I just want to know is it going to be expensive
to fix

On most cars, unless yours is an exception, the engine has to come out to pull an oil pan off- "running hot" is not due to the oil pump- you can try finding out why your engine is running hot, first- a hot engine could be thinning your oil, stressing your oil pump, (and everything else), and, indeed, could be destroying everything inside your engine- yes, repairing cars IS expensive-
