I have a audi a4 2005 model car does not crank over what could be wrong

Car when switching on ignition gives me two faults, abs fault and number plate light nt
working. sometimes car start and then other times it does not start at all. would the
controll module on the tauto gearbox keep it from starting because i hear of lots of 2001
to 2005.models having those problems, mine have been replaced before.

i would try checking your starter wires. Alot of issues with starting have been simply the copper wire betwen the points and the solinoid rots off.

The photo attached will specify the wire i am peaking off it is normally just a cooper wire exposed to the elements when i had my starter suddenly stop working this was the issue with my audi. Normaly the only way to fix this problem is to replace the starter. It would be hard to find out of tis is infact the issue so if you could provide the codes you recieved it will help pin point the issue.
