Idiots lights stay on

Asked by pbs Apr 07, 2014 at 06:00 PM about the 2008 Saturn VUE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I own a 2008 Saturn Vue and have had the following problem for about a month – The following “Idiot lights” remain on:
• ABS
• TCS ~ Traction Control System
• ESP ~ Electronic Stability Program Indicator Light
It started while driving on dry/icy/snow covered roads.
They went off and on for a few days and the brakes sounded like they went into antilock mode.
I took the Vue to 2 mechanics.
Opinion: there is something wrong with one of the sensors & it needs to be replaced BUT since all 3 remain on there is no way to tell which sensor to replace.
HELP!

Why don't you replace one at a time until problem is fixed?

This problem is typical of the year and model... Just bought a used 2008 VUE hybrid and all the Traction, Stabilization , Hybrid service indicators came on then the engine light came on usually all occurring once I hit 50mph for about 20 minutes. Changed out Cam Shaft actuator solenoid..bought a new gas cap because the old one didn't stay on... Reset the the computer ... Engine light remains off but Traction control came back on.. Planning to change out the Intake and Exhaust Solendoids...and while I'm at it I will change out the oxygen intake sensor. All these sensors talk to each other so it's worth just paying for it and You Tube shows you how. total cost is about $200 and switching out myself.

Are these indicator lights false positives or are the systems really disengaged?
