2008 mercury marquis levelers

Asked by Guru91L2SZ Dec 19, 2021 at 10:24 PM about the 2008 Mercury Grand Marquis

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2008 marquis makes grinding noises even while driving.(Levelers).  When shut
off makes grinding noises and at times in the mornings the rear is down low
with the front end raised up.  Does this have to be fixed and how much? or can
you just simply turn off that switch in the trunk or wherever?  does killing the
switch hurt anything?  I don't haul anything

Yes, it needs to be fixed. The grinding is the tires rubbing the inner fenders because the body is sagging in the rear. There are conversion kits available to do away with the rear airbags and replace them with shock absorbers. It won't be cheap. Hope that helps! Jim
