there's a problem with my 2003 malibu's keyhole...if the key does not point at 'OFF', the time remains on and the battery drains...its strainful, is this a common problem..do i need to get a new part?

I would believe that you should only be able to remove the key if it is pointed at 'OFF'. Otherwise in ACC or ON you can expect time to display, therefore there is nothing wrong with the keyhole or igniton lock switch.

thanks for respondong...the problem is the key in the hole gets stuck up on ACC....welll not much of a problem now....if i can bring the key to OFF, then i'd be getting a good night sleep, otherwise i'd have to wake at 5'o clock to start the engine again...its been workin well but not a wise thing for long use
