Nissan altima 08

Asked by J May 30, 2018 at 03:53 PM about the 2008 Nissan Altima

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi all, my gf has a 08 Altima. On the way out of
town, oil r bad transmission shot everywhere. I got
it towed 200 miles then brought it to the
dealership. They said I need a new torque
converter and valve body just resolve the other
codes. I when to pullapart and replaced the bad
solenoids( the 2 middle ones) and put it back in.
One of the solenoid should have control the torque
so I figured that's why they said replace the
converter. I put 4 out of 9 quarts of trans fluid in (
stuff is expensive). Yet it still doesn't shift.
Previously it would have shut off as soon as I put it
n reverse r any other gear then park. Now I can sit
on different gear n the car will stay running but
when I hit the gas it just go up to 2 no more
without the speed moving at all. Can anyone help.
I'll upload codes from the dealership. Who told me
replacing the torque converter n valve body was
the same price as a new tranny which would b
3700. No way.d
