something keeps running after turning off.I have to open and close door to shut it off

Little more information please? Sound like a fuel pump..?? or just a bit of elaboration please..a sound?

perhaps you're connecting dots where no connection exists...I'm suggesting that your door ain't got nothin' to do with it....one disturbing little feature is that the system ground is marginal. and closure of the door "gooses" the connection~

you know engine cooling fans WILL continue to run until a safe shut-down temperature is reached~(on some models)~
