2008 Pontiac grand Prix

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

SO I HAVE A 2008 grand Prix with a 3.8 engine,
miles are averaged around 160+ . I'm trying to
figure out whether the car transmission is bad! It
was running great an then all a sudden the car
won't got in drive but will go into reverse. So I want
to ask if anyone could tell me what it could be,
before I bought a new transmission.

Or it could be a number of other things. Before you buy a new transmission find out what the problem is. Start by looking for something obvious like a wire off or a linkage problem. More likely its an electronic issue of some sort. Have it scanned for trouble codes. If all that fails take ti to a transmission shop for an evaluation. Transmissions are insanely expensive. You don't want to go there unless you absolutely have to.
