Coolant/Anitfreeze

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
So I recently bought an '08 Mustang V6. I have
problems with it over heating a lot. We bought and
changed the water pump in it. Which did not fix
the problem. Then we found out it was the
thermostat. Which we bought a new one and
changed it. It's been about 2-3 weeks since that
has been changed. But recently my car has been
idling low (multiple misfires 4th&5th cylinder and
we bought a new coil pack, which was the
problem) and my car has started leaking coolant
again. You can smell the sweet syrup smell every
once in a while. Any suggestions on what to
check next? It looks like coolant is being sprayed
on top of everything like its leaking from the top.
Could my Mustang just need a routine check?
She's an '08 with 88,900 miles. Help please. Hope
it all makes sense!

one of your coolant lines might have a pinhole leak open hood start it and look for the leak
It sounds like a heater hose going to or from the heater core, can you smell antifreeze inside the car?, if so, it could be your heater core, is your carpet damp?if not, then check the car hoses right before it gets up to temp, right before the thermostat opens, that when the pressure is at it's highest PSI, about 16-18 LBS. Take the car to your local hand car wash, and spray the motor off, then drive it home, and it should be dry, at that time, then check for leaks..you should find it then.....hope this helps...
coolant hoses should still be good on that model year. I suspect hoses though, probably related to the recent water pump change. It would be good to change the hose clamps(never reuse the wire-type originals) while you are at it check the belt(s) and get new hoses too. B sure to use new screw-clamps when reinstalling.(did I mention the clamps?)
could also be the factory crimps on the hoses are leaking where they change from pipe to rubber

Are fixing these things expensive? I have already paid $80 for a water pump, $120 for a battery, $40 for a coil pack, and $20 for a thermostat. This car is costing me an arm and a leg.

I haven't found the leak yet. It's been raining here and I've been stuck at work all day. And since I JUST bought the car it's kind of ridiculous...
