2008 Chevy HHR

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2008 Chevy HHR it's failed to stop
running about 10 miles from my home, we
got a new battery because that is what we
were told it needed... That didn't work and
we initially broke down again and needed a
tow... The owner of the shop came out and
said that it did not have about so that was
the reason that it stopped running in we kept
needing a jump, while we had a new
alternator belt put in and now the the engine
light is on and the car accelerates to 4 or 5
RPMs and it seems to not be engaging for
some reason can someone please help me
with this? Does anyone think it may be the
exhaust or something simple?

Check your transmission fluid. When was the last time you had it changed? There's a full up way down in the engine bay maybe you can devise a way to get something into the tranny fluid to check the color and life left. I just had to change fluid and filter myself, pretty gnarly fluid in mine and that fixed the issue. 7 quarts will fill it back up after a flush and it uses dexron vi
