I have a 2008 chevy equinox. After heating up it seems like the transmission is slipping

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

took it to aamco and says it need a new transmission for the tune of 4400.00  Could it be
something else?

I would hope that they aren't trying to take advantage of you. Is it possible that you are very low on automatic transmission fluid? Have you checked it using the dipstick?

Have you tried changing the transmission fluid and filter ?

just climb under the car and with an 18mm,15mm, and 12mm wrench take out the driver side engine mount and sure enough an hour later there it is!!!!(the transmission dip stick) well girl get busy!!
