Add oil
1 Answer
Add oil only if the oil level is low. There is a black round plastic knob on the top of the engine with the word "OIL" on it. Unscrew it and that is where oil is added. First pull out the dip stick to make sure the oil level is indeed low. It is a bright colored stick coming out of a black tube near the front of the engine or on the side, usually the driver's side. The vehicle should be on level ground, engine off for at least one or two minutes to allow the oil to seep back into the oil pan. Remove the dip stick and using either an old cloth rag or paper towel, wipe the oil off the dip stick. Once clean, look at it and see where the full mark on the stick is. Re-insert the dip stick into the tube it came from and pull it out again. Now look at the dip stick while keeping it pointed down. If there is oil in the oil pan, it will register. If low add oil.
