over heated and shut off it wont crank back

van ran hot and shut off, it wont crank now,  i checked oil and no
water was in it ,also checked plugs, they are firing

Impossible to say if the starter motor not cranking is due to the overheating or something else. All you can do is go through the starting and ignition circuit and make sure starter motor is getting power. Starter motors can become "heat soaked" which can prevent them from working but once they cool off should resume working.
