1969 GTO Judge conv.

Asked by 7tgto455HOconv Jan 12, 2019 at 01:57 PM about the 1969 Pontiac GTO

Question type: General

I found a 69 GTO conv. with the Judge option.  I got a copy of the window sticker to confirm and that where I got really confused.  the model on the window stick stats GTO CONVERTIBLE and on the list of dealer added options it list option # 554 $337.02 THE JUDGE- CONSISTS OF: yet the VIN number starts with 237 (lemans) not 242 (GTO).  the title also states GTO and has the VIN the same 237.  Could this be a real Judge?

I think you have a clone. Contact the Pontiac Historical Association.

Keep in mind that most GTO's and Judges for sale are FAKES. Not one in 10 are real.

"The Judge" option package was a factory option, not a dealer added option. Disreputable sellers will clone a Judge, sometimes not even from a real (242) GTO, and then try to add some air of legitimacy by saying desirable options were "dealer-equipped" but they are typically referring to themselves(if they have a dealer license) or who the dealer they bought it from, not the original Pontiac dealer. FYI all 1966-1971 GTOs, and thus all Judges, are factory 242 cars on the VIN.

Your Answer:

GTO
