clicking noise when turning on headlights. Then only the day time running lamps work. How do I fix this?

forget the daytime circuit , that's by itself, the headlight circuit has a breaker that when hot will cut off instead of a fuse so you have a more reliable headlight system for at least some safety , something must be shorted to ground or breaker in fuse panel is bad. check at globe area for shorted connections
