probably any "a" body(cutlass/skylark/lemans/chevelle), from that era, i think the 70's had front stear suspension, maybe the '71 did too, they changed it to rear stear around then, not sure. you didn't mention if yours was a two or four door. not sure if they were doing the split wheel base(112"/116"), with the "a" bodies then, probably were. the "a" body was introduced in like '64, i'd look for something a little later, maybe '68 or '69, because by then then had more or less universialized things like transmissions and rear differentials. i know in '73 they underwent a major overhaul, not heard of anyone using the frame/chassis from a post '72 on a older one.

waaaay late but if u looking for a frame i have one excllent shape. 1970 skylark custom rag get hold me at stevecraig247@outlook.com
Rear steering in old GM cars? I don't think so. The cost to repair the frame would all depend on the level of damage. I would replace it before I would repair major damage. Any frame from a 'A' body GM car from 68 - 72 should work provided the wheel base is the same. There were 3 wheel bases, 112" 116" and 121" for the wagons. This is not definitive so measure and compare before buying another frame.

Had/still have a ragtop 1970 skylark custom. Was in great shape and was on the road as a weekender car. Was my fathers and had a restoration mid 80s but was starting to show.I took it to Fraserville Auto just outside of Lindsay/Peterborough Ontario Canada. Dealt with DAVE WIGMORE and spent $27000.00, thats right,$27000.00,twenty seven thousand dollars, only to get car back in pieces in boxes!!!!!! DESTROYED THE CAR!!! ITS A PARTS CAR NOW!! PASS THE WORD < FRASERVILLE AUTO and especially the name DAVE WIGMORE!!!!!
Crazy Question, but do you still have the frame/chassis for this car? I am looking for a 72 Chevelle convertible and the frame will work. 62Dre'
