Check to make sure you have the nozzle inserted into the filler neck properly. If you insert it all the way in, and it keeps shutting off, try to pull it out a little bit and fill it that way. Gas pump nozzles determine the shut off time by measuring how dense the gas fumes are around the nozzle. If it is too far into the tank, it may be detecting too many fumes to fill without cutting off. Also, if you tend to drive until your gas light is on before filling up you will have this issue as there will be fumes inside the tank. If that is the case, the best bet is to slowly fill it up for a gallon or two, pull the nozzle out, wait 15 seconds or so, and then try to fill it smoothly the rest of the way and see if it still cuts out.
