Starter will not disingage from flywheel (2002 Malibu)

I replaced my starter and had a lemon worked about 3 times. Took it back
and placed replacement one in the my car. Started it and the damn thing will
not disingage and started smoking. Took it back they put it on the mashine 6
times and it said it was fine. The district manager told them to replace it with
a brand new one. They tested it 6 times before giving it to my so put it in the
car and the same damn thing. So I took the nut off from the ignition switch
wire. Started the car took the ignition wire off and tested it with light tester
and it has power constantly going through the solenoid without the wire being
on it. The place said the relay and I told them that car is not equipped with
one. Can someone please help me out. Ignition Switch?

My info does not show a starter relay listed, so it must be your ignition switch not releasing.

Replaced the ignition switch. Still doing the same thing. Any other ideas by any chance before I have to look into the wires? Will the ignition lock cause that to happen by an chance. It does have 3 wires going to it.

My solenoid is with the starter. I'm going to check that again and look at the starter to make sure they gave me the right one for my Malibu.

Found the solution to the problem. The ignition lock cylinder was sticking.
