Original factory paint overspray

Asked by gharrison Mar 26, 2016 at 11:44 AM about the 1974 Cadillac Eldorado

Question type: General

My 1974 Eldo convertible is a one owner (my mother bought it new) Ive had it
for 32 years. Car is in great shape never wrecked painted or restored. Problem
is when showing there is a small amount of paint overspray under the hood on
some of the black rubber seals by driver side corner next to the windshield.
One look and most everyone says it was repainted. But I had a factory rep tell
me back in the 80's this was was common practice from one of the assembly
plants. Any feed back or comments would be helpful.

Eldo is not for sell and is all original. Often When talking to about my car the small amount of over spray comes up and many have strong opinions both ways. I was just looking for an actual expert answer not a guess.
