Question type: Car Customization

I have a 2001 v6 Camaro full stock and i wondering about side exaust instead of the traditional rear exaust. If i put side exaust on it would i losse horsepower and how much would it cost. Or should i just go with the traditional rear exaust.  Thanks in advance.

well.. trying to put side exhausts will alter the ground clearance and u could scrape it easily. coz... there are no places to tuck it in the chassis. you would run into street-legal issues too. esp. in Cali! it would be better to have it go straight back. remember that u have the O2 sensors in the exhaust pipes. i was thinking of getting the muffler behind the rear diff. straightened for 5-10 more hp. it would be a good bet. happy motoring. :)
