blinkers and brake lights arent working 2001 cavalier

Asked by GuruZJCP Mar 25, 2017 at 08:28 PM about the 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

blinkers stopped working first, now brake lights wont turn on. All other lights
work. Should I start with fuses and bulb replacements? Seems to be a
common problem with these cars?

The brake light and turn signal use the same filament in the bulb. So you must have burnt out bulbs. Just change the bulbs.

I had same problem with mine. Kept noticing the bulb was melted around the contacts. I replaced the bulb socket (they unplug and are $12 new) and put new bulbs in and never had a problem again
