Our 2008 dodge charger started jerking while driving tonight and stalls when stopped. What could it be?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

At first it was jerking while going at a slower speed and then stalled when stopped in
traffic while in drive and then on the way home it started jerking violently while going at a
higher speed and then acting like it wasn't getting gas when my foot was on the pedal
until I switched it to neutral and then back into drive and the check engine light came on
and started flashing and beeping. HEEEEEEELLLLPPPPP!!!!!

Sounds exactly like what we've experienced with our 2003 suburban. It's the spark plug coil. It doesn't happen in neutral. Do you know anyone who can unplug coils while someone presses gas in drive? I can tell you how to figure out which coil it is.

Thank you for your help. We went to Advnace and they told us to start with the Cam Shaft Sensor. We replaced that and it seems to be doing better (no more engine light and not violently jerking) but we are getting a tune up also and they will check the spark plug coils when they change the plugs.
