Hi Chill! This isn't a hugely daunting job but procedures are key. You will really need to check out a Chilton's manual for the correct procedure to switch out your water pump. You will probably find the Chilton's for your Monte Carlo on the shelf of your local library. You may get out for a few 25-cent copies. If not check your local parts store or book store. If you are going to be doing this type of work on that car that will be money well spent. if all else fails you should be bale to buy a copy on ebay or amazon.com. Good luck!
