middle wire on distributor
I Have been trying to find an imaged but it seems the distributor is hidden under and behind the air filter... click for full screen
Thought you weren't a GM guy...he he... Make sure you are insulated before pulling that wire or it sure will let you know you are alive!
Wish motors still were like that, nice pic.
Better way would be to take the air cleaner off and choke it.
Ah, Row, you don't have to be GM guy to know what a coil wire is -- and really, things were so much easier then
Oh so true. If you get zapped by a plug wire you will lose you bladder and coil wire just as bad .... worse... but latex medical gloves will work
But we still have th problem in what is most likely the ignition switch, Yes, I 100% agree, take off the filter and put a dinner plate over the carb, choke it out, Not a paper plate but like a piece of plywood or something like that. But then disconnect Black Neg-- battery cable until you need the car. Yup, I know a big hassle but if it won't shut off with key the battery will drain in a hurry... and if the distributor points happen to be closed at the time.... not good
