1970 cutlass 350 rocket

car runs and idols fine but when you hit
gas hard it stalls between gears you let
foot off gas it starts back up if you are
light on the gas it will shift through all
gears what could be causing this

No just got car but it seems to be very responsive when in park only when rpm gets high between shifts will it do that thank yall I'll try carb let ya no I was thinking it was trans mission

Okay also my trans started leaking behind torque converter so I'm thinking I may need a new converter would that make this issue cause right out the gate it's balls to the wall then when it shifts is when it stalls then if you feather it it will keep going
