Low oil pressure in Chevy Express 1500
I have a 2000 Chevy Express 1500. 5L 8cyl. It has about 130,000 miles.
Recently, I have had low oil pressure after the car warms up. It had just been
low, but now it will routinely reads 0 while at a stop. I have already changed
the sending unit. I have done manual test and found the pressure to be inline
with what the gauge was telling me. I do not hear any noise coming from the
engine. In fact if it were not for the light on the dash I would not know there is
an issue. I routinely check the oil and it never seems to be low. Most of what
I read mentions rod bearings, but I am not clear if I can have an issue there if
there is no noise. I'd appreciate any ideas on what to check next. I'm about
ready to replace the oil pump just to see if that makes a difference. I'd
appreciate any ideas on what I should check and if I can have a bearing
issue if there is no noise.
