Throttle-Body Fuel Injection Isn't a Carburetor..... AND.... there hasn't been a car sold in America with a carburetor since the 1980s......SO... whomever is telling you this is not correct......I would suggest that you get a 2nd opinion....

You don't have carb, you throttle body. The air filter duct should go to throttle-body. See air filter in picture.
