A gas nozzle from the pump won't fit in the fill tube if it's diesel
Check the "gas" cap or look under the hood.
It will tell you on the gas gauge or behind the gas filler door. Hope that helps! Jim
It's gasoline. If u try to pump diesel, nozzle won't fit.
Some good answers here but, some service stations have the same size nozzles for both gasoline and diesel. Look at the 8th digit of your VIN. You are looking for "F" or "Y". General Motors introduced a line of Diesel V8 engines for their C/K pickup trucks in 1982. This engine family was produced by GM through 2000, when it was replaced by the new Duramax line. AM General's subsidiary General Engine Products (GEP) still produces a military variant of this engine for the HMMWV. "F" has a turbo, "Y" does not. Both are Diesel, everything else is a gas burner. (Smell the fuel cap. Diesel has a very heavy distinct smell)
