looking at a 2000 chevy Silverado 2500 extended and a 2004 chevy Silverado 1500 extended. The 3/4 ton chevy is apparently not designated HD. Both are 4 wheel drive. The 2000 has 125 K mikes the 2004 has 150 K miles. Any preferences or opinions between the two trucks

6 of 1 half dozen of the other. At this point it is the maintenance history.

What are you going to use it for? Work, go with the heavy duty 250 3/4 ton truck. Towing? If neither is set up for HD, sounds like either truck will need new HD parts to make it work. I'd go with the 2500 if it was not used for work, towing or hauling. The 10 year old truck has 15,000 a year on it, so it may be a go to and from work truck. If you know the history of either, take the one you feel is the better bargain. Less miles but poor maintenance will be a heart ache. The 2500 is bui8lt with more heavy duty springs and shocks. After 10 years or 14 years, all may need replacement on the shocks.
