2000 Chevy Tahoe has reverse and nothing forward HOWEVER

2000 chevy tahoe 4l60e... i have a good strong reverse but no forward . the
scantool reads i am in 3rd gear no matter what position i put the shifter to. what
sensor or electrical component is the possible culprit?

You either have a bad gear selector switch or the selector wiring is cross connected. So the computer doesn’t know what to do cause the signals are wrong. You may still have a transmission problem but the electrical needs sorted first.
