i was thinking of buying an 88 lebaron for $995. is it worth it if the car has 145000 miles on a 2.5 liter?

Only you can decide if a car is worth purchasing. Some things to consider though are the condition of the body (is there rust?) how much tread do the tires have, and all the standard things you would look for in a car. I will say that the 2.5l engine is a stout little mill. Replacement parts are readily available, the 2.5 is essentially a 2.2 with a different head, so damn near anything from a 2.2 is interchangeable and Chrysler Corp put out a blue million cars with that engine. My advice to you is simply weigh the good and the bad of the car and make a decision, and don't pay what the asking price is. Negotiate with the guy, that's half the fun of buying a car.

I hear the 2.5 is a bad motor compared to the 2.2, the heads seem to blow on them if hot-rod to much. It is worth the $995 though.
