The cords for plugging in the battery is loose. What do I have to do to fix it?

We switched the battery of our car due to old battery not working. We bought the battery
from the auto center in costco and when we changed it, the cords that connected the
battery to the car were very loose. Why is this happening and what should I do to fix it?

Top post or side post? Below is picture of side post, you can't get them wrong. +Red Pos on + Red Pos side, and Black-Neg-- same. If it's a top post, literally side or top, then the cable clamps must be tightened with a wrench....there is a bolt goes through with a nut on one end. If the clamps are very loose, you may have bought the wrong kind of battery. Costco service center should help you with this. If bolts are too long they need washers, or proper bolts
Top post........ Clamps must be clean and tight

We tightened the clamps and still it was very loose. We went to Costco service center and they only said that they don't know what's wrong since the companies that made the batteries should make them in common measure/size. The old/new batteries are top post btw.
