Oil amount

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

If the oil gets too low will a light come on
also seems like if I put oil in to match the
dipstick level indicator the check engine
light comes on any ideas

Your oil light is not coming on because of not enough nor too much oil it's because your oil is not getting to the required area such as bearings or oil pump strainer. It could even be your oil pump breaking down.. best bet is to flush your engine and then if light comes back on then check pump
