1995 chevy Silverado

Took my truck to the shop because it shifts hard
going from 1st to 2nd (automatic transmission).
First day drove like a dream, next day went to the
store got in the car not as hard but still the same
thing. Took it back the next day, got it back still
shifts hard not as much of a jerk but it's there.  
Don't want to take it back for a third time and get
the same results. I was told the first time a spring
was broke in my transmission but it's doing the
samething not as hard but the same. The first day
out the shop it drove like a dream.  Need options or
a check list for them to give me, help
