Engine swap

I have an engine motor that someone gave to me
the only thing i know about it is that it came out of
an S10...how do i figure anything out about it?? Is
there even a point...will it fit in my 97 Chevy
Silverado 1500 extended cab with a 4.3 ?

It would have to be the 4.3L V6 engine to work in your truck. If it is a V8 engine, then you would have to do some modifications to make it work.
