89 Chevy problem

Asked by Devins12 May 06, 2016 at 08:29 PM about the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 89 Chevy Silverado runs good has a
great tranny but for some reason it idels
weird sometimes. When you get to about 45
50mph it wants to chug like it's trying to
stop and go and the other day I was driving
up a hill and it sounded like it was trying to
get gas? It died on me after driving it for
about 30 min around town at a red light but
crunk right back up! Does anyone have any
suggestions I don't have the money to take it
anywhere.. So just need some help?

Check the catalytic converter at somewhere dark to see if it is glowing orange, if it is then it is plugged up.
