Hey guys, just joined the Barracuda club. Fell in love with this car after watching the tv show Nash Bridges :D
I was looking for a 1971 Barracuda to restore, and found one with a rusting body, destroyed interior, ripped seats, no engine, no transmission. The owner was asking $10k for it. Personally I think its a ripoff, mopar or not.
What would a barracuda in this condition really be worth? How could I weasel my way to $1000?

Buy a '70, '72, '73, or '74 and clone it into a '71. The 1971 sells for so much for multiple reasons, one of which being it was on the show, but the main reason is that it is the only Barracuda/Cuda with factory dual headlamps and the fender louvers. I found a 1972 cuda roller for $1800 and it was a solid, mostly rust free car. Youre paying for the year. Same thing with corvettes with the 1963 split window (only years made). If it were me, id offer him 5500 cash and thats that, and even then thats a decent chunk of change for one year Mopar, when there are plenty of better ones out there.
I'm perfect to answer your question ..If you have the money to totally restore a 71' cuda buy it for $10,000.. I owned a brand new 71' Cuda 340 ..Sold it in 1984 in mint condition .. Today that car would bring in a value of $ 100,000 plus ..A 1971' Hemi Cuda convertible sold for more than a Million plus on Barrett - Jackson Auction ..
I have a 1972 Plymouth cuda with a 440 it only cranks when it’s cold outside. It has a Holley carburetor on it
