What kind of mileage can you expect out of a 99 suburban?

it all depends on how the vehicle has been looked after i.e regular service and repairs done when needed then yes this vehicle could do a lot more miles. If the owner has just abused it then you could be getting yourself involved in a lot of time and money.

My '99 Beast has been a workhorse, move 3 households, pulled trailers all over, sometimes with one or two horses, gets 12-14 mpg, got a 2nd transmission at 181,000 and is currently at 187,500. You can't kill 'em.

I also have a 1999 suburban with the 350 engine. I get between 16.5 and 18.5 MPG. Vehicle currently has 83k miles on it.

It sure does depend on the its condition but I wouldn't be concerned if the truck was taken care of the fluids look good. I have had many Suburbans and all of them over the miles you are looking at (including 230k on a 454). They have had some issues but nothing huge and nothing surprising, meaning I knew what was the cause and/or reason. The vortec 350's of those years did have some issues (so I am told) so make sure you keep up with the maintenence including all filters. If it is a k2500 with a 454 I would job all over it, but I am also basis.

i had a '99 half ton 4x4 with the 350. i got as much a 19 mpg and as little as 11; it all depended on how much of a jerk i was while driving. look out for mushy transmissions and bad transfer cases in the 130k mile range. put the truck in 4 hi and cut the wheel left and right. if it stalls, the transfer case is bad.

Had a 99 w/a 5.7 C1500 and got 14 to 17 mpg; keep the OEM spec sized tires on it for best mileage & ride IMO

I have a 97 suburban 1500 with a 350 engine. The motor was changed at 190k but the transmission is original and has 375k on it. Best truck ever made

I have a 97 5.7L motor was replaced at 190k current motor is at 289k transmission has not been changed and is steady running at 399k. Best while I've ever owned

I just sold a 96 suburban 4x4 350 with over 565k on it. Original motor and tranny working perfectly. Stock stainless exhaust still intact. Only major thing that the truck ever needed was the rear end at around 525k. Body was full of holes though. Engine has since been put into a 98 yukon and is still going strong. My mileage was around 16 MPG (7 kpl) give or take and around 600 miles (975 km) to a tank. I miss that truck

We are getting ready to sell or scrap our 1995 2500 GMC suburban with 205000 mi. The transmission needed $700 20 years ago just after the warranty ran out. Never really pulled anything with it except a dump trailer once in a while. Same motor. Little problems like the gas tank has to be kept half full or it thinks it’s empty. Crappy brakes for such a huge heavy vehicle. They wear out fast. I think we could get another 50k but husband doesn’t want to deal with the unreliability of an older vehicle, especially since we use it to travel.

Bought a99suburban new raised the kids with that car .steal running great at. 289000same engine and trany.Best car I have ever owned.and are driving daily.

I got a 2002 express cargo 2500 350 5.7 vortec I transmission rebuilt at 180.000 now at 290.000 runs great many small parts going bad breaks lines fuel pump steering pump etc was not taken care of road hard put away wet .but still runs transmission is ok but not the strongest. If you get on it transmission acts up motor loves it lol.

this one is for sale i live in the mountains and retired get 12 miles to the gallon w/454 only 81 k on it $8,000 everything excellent except drivers seat tear in leather . need better gas mileage don't tow anything , 209-295-0216 steve
