What is the oil capacity with new filter? Is running five quarts to much?

just add 4 quarts then check the dipstick then decide if you need more or not

That's what I should have done, but I put on a new filiter and added five quarts. I might be running 1/2 or 3/4 of a quart high. The oil is over the full market on the dip stick. Should I pull the extra oil out or just run it. Thanks.

Yes take out extra. Very bad for seals. The book that came with the car says 4 quarts. I know I still have it in my 1971 fury wagon with the 360.
