it starts eventually in the mornings but starts perfect when hot! heater plugs have been replaced! los of smoke when started cold...lots of chugging! even chugs a bit while driving until warm! timing mite be out a bit??

Could be timing related, but possibly related to internal engine mechanical problems. Is the smoke bluish-grey, or blackish? Black smoke indicates a rich fuel condition, bluish-grey indicates oil being burnt, which could come from valve stem seals, piston rings, etc. If the smoke is white it could be a head gasket/burning coolant.

thanks very much! ive just joined this so wasnt expecting a reply so quick! smoke is blueish grey so a broken ring wud be likely so i was told! not much oil being burnt bt i service it meself every 5000 miles so wudnt burn much in dat time!
