Question type: Maintenance & Repair

CV Joint pulled apart and plastic cap between three bearings and boot is broken. Is it really required to keep this part inside?

yes ,it keeps dirt and grime from getting into the bearings,it is not a part you can replace the cv shaft will need to be replaced, but you can drive it until the bearings weare out.

Thanks, it is making a honing sound, which I believe where it is coming from.
