http://www.genocide2600.com/~traviso/mml/bodydecode.html#vindecode I went to the URL above & found the following: R= Belvedere / Satellite 21= 2 door sedan H= 240 HP with 4-bbl V8 3= 1973 G= St. Louis I couldn't find the N code but did find M= Road Runner (68-74) Double check the VIN on the car you are looking at. The only N code was N= Coronet New York Taxi Cab 1970-71

gustang is correct, the vin number should start out with either RP, RM, or RH. RP is a sport satellite, RM is a roadrunner, and RH is a base satellite, which is what I believe you have since H and N look similar on the vin

Im thinking it is RM for roadrunner due to the H code. Not sure satellites had a 340 option available except in the roadrunner package.

Yes they did. Thought my dad sad the 340 was an option in the Sebring Plus in '72. I've seen literature photos of a '71 with a six pack 440 and stripe still called a Satellite. Big blocks and even 340s are rare. How many were factory optioned and not special by a dealer or individual I don't know.

'71 Satellites could have 440s. Rather rare. It was an option on certain models and typical would have been special ordered. There are a few "RR package" ones with 440s. A 340 could be in had in a Satellite Sebring Plus but are also rare. Most were special ordered that way - also more common in the RR package. The later '73-74 had a 400 and 440 option. The 440 was more common that once believed in that generation but the number of survivors is still low. A 340 is a strong puller. It is a RPM motor and according to Mopar Muscle's recent testing the numbers get close to stock 383s with simple carb and exhaust tweaks and isn't bad in stock form either. The '69-'70 RR model was RM21.

That is later '73-74 Roadrunners. After that they were pretty a package on the clone cars. Still got an emblem, unique horn and stripe. Not much more to the exterior cosmetics. Sad times with the EPA regulations kicking in....

I just purchased a car rm213pc 400 w torque flight but it is a 2 barrel carburetor? Real roadrunner? Or clone? Possible intake carb swap to a 2 barrel? Confused was there a 400 2v option?
