how can you tell if cavalier has jumped time

Do a compression test. If you have anything less than 100lbs on each cylinder it has probably jumped. Pull the upper timing belt cover off and see if all the belt is there.

1996 Cavalier 2.2L or 2.4L engines, both have timing chains. What are the symptoms of your car? Which engine do you have, and how many miles are on it?

I have a 2004 chevy cavalier 2.2 motor the motor has jumped timing the chain is still working. What parts could make it jump timing.
