my speedometer & tail lights went out, but the fuses are still good. what could be the problem?

yes, the black cable off the battery is supposed to be screwed into a bolt on the chassis/frame...this bolt and connection are corroded enough to not make solid electrical connection...wirebrush this lug, the place where it bolts to and the bolt....also the cable what is connected to the engine block~ solid ground is what is needed here (assuming the battery is newer than seven years old....else get a new battery too)
