Sounds like it could be either cv joint or wheel bearing. Jack car up and check for play in that wheel by grabbing either side of it and wiggling it from side to side and up and down. Any major movement would be wheel bearing issue. Also inspect cv joint boot. If torn or cracked the joint is probably dry and dirty. It will possibly need replacing.
