have a look at the motor. there is a 90degree bend pipe inbetween the throttle body and the intake manifold.have a look where that bend joins to the intake manifold, there should b a plate plate u can see its about 3mm thick. it is a restriction cone put in for fuel ecconomy and smooth acceleration. if u take that out it will hav a bit more punch off the line. if u do take it off afterwards u will have to bring the revs up to around 3000-3500 for 30secods 2 reset some of the sensors so it will recognise it has been taken out. apart from that ur lookin at things like extractors and exhaust

The cone restrictor works well, also take out all your intake piping, box etc... and place a pod filter from the throttle body!!! This works vey well as the VN - VR motors. Otherwise install a cold air induction which will do that same job, just more $$$ If you have a VN, the exhaust manifold is the most restrictive manifold i have ever seen, changing this will help dramatically, followed by a cat back exhaust or full system, you will be able to burn of 5Litres very easily.

Also, get yourself a 5L V8 throttle body, they 5mm bigger than the V6 and help in performance. make sure you give the sensor a good clean before fitting them as when you get them second hand from wreckers, they may be a little dirty. Magna TS 4cyl injectors are a great option also. They perform better than the HSV V8 injectors and are used on the Saloon cars! All this can be purchased from wrecking yard for very little $$$
